Psychological Evaluation of ADHD

Psychological Evaluation of Autism and Asperger's Syndrome
Recently, national attention has been given to Autism and Asperger disorders. Psychological testing provides data based on national norms. Tests utilized in Autism and Asperger's Syndrome include the Children's Autism Rating Scale, Gilliam Autism Rating Scale-II, Asperger Diagnostic Scale, and the Adaptive Behavior assessment Systems. In addition, a history is completed with the parent and an observation and interview with the child/adolescent is conducted.Psychological Evaluation of Emotional/Behavioral Disorders
Psychological testing gathers data from multiples sources, which allows a more comprehensive "picture" of the patient's difficulties
to be revealed. Many of these adolescent and adult psychological tests are objective and based on national norms, such as the MMPI-II and the
Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory-II. These types of tests provide objective data that aid in the diagnosis of depression, anxiety,
post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, etc. The test
results are always interpreted in combination with the patient history and
clinical interview and assist in the development of a treatment plan for
treatment/therapy.
